Joining the Central WI Board of REALTORS®

 

There are three different membership statuses: Board & CWMLS, CWMLS Only, and Board Only.  The Broken/Owner of the office needs to be a member of at least matching status before any agents are able to join. For example, a Board and CWMLS Broker can have Board and CWMLS Agents, Board Only Agents, or CWMLS Only Agents, while a CWMLS Only Broker can only have CWMLS Only Agents. 

Applications for each membership status can be found in both online and paper versions.

Membership Statuses:

  • Board & CWMLS: Member of the Central WI Board of REALTORS® and the Central WI Multiple Listing Service
  • CWMLS Only: Member of only the Central WI Multiple Listing Service. Must be a member of another WI Board association
  • Board Only: Member of only the Central WI Board of REALTORS®. Will be joining another WI Multiple Listing Service

Within each membership status, there are three different memberships types: Designated REALTORS®, REALTOR®, or Affiliate.

Broker/Designated REALTORS®: Managing Brokers/Owners of the office.  Designated REALTORS® are also Licensed/Certified Appraisers.

REALTORS®: Real Estate Licensees working as subagents of a Broker (Designated REALTOR®).

Affiliates: Anyone else that has anything to do with the real estate industry.  Home Inspectors, Lenders, Title Companies, Heating/Air, Cleaning, Plumbing, Electricians, etc.  If it has to do with real estate, we would love to have you as an Affiliate!

Designated REALTOR® (DR) Membership (Managing Broker/Owner)

Each firm (or office in the case of firms with multiple office locations) shall designate in writing one REALTOR® member who shall be responsible for all duties and obligations of membership, including the obligation to arbitrate (or to mediate if required by the association) pursuant to Article 17 of the Code of Ethics of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and the payment of Association dues.

The “Designated REALTOR®” must be a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer, or branch office manager acting on behalf of the firm’s principal (licensed Broker), and must meet all other qualifications for REALTOR® membership.

New Designated REALTORS® must complete CWBR’s New Member Orientation and NAR’s New Member Online Code of Ethics Training within the first 180 days of application submission.

Member benefits include:  Availability to become a member of the Central WI Multiple Listing Service, Inc (CWMLS) and all CWMLS benefits, Participation in CWBR’s Lockbox/eKEY Program, WRA Legal Hotline, ZipForms, Continuing Education, Dispute Resolution Services, Legislative Support, and much more.

REALTOR® (R) Membership

Individuals who are engaged in the real estate profession other than as sole proprietors, partners, corporate officers, or branch office managers and are associated with a Designated REALTOR® member and hold a Wisconsin Broker or Salesperson License.

The REALTOR® should belong to the same Local REALTOR® association as the Designated REALTOR® they are associated with.

New REALTORS® must complete CWBR’s New Member Orientation and NAR’s New Member Online Code of Ethics Training within the first 180 days of application submission.

Member benefits include:  Availability to be included on the Central WI Multiple Listing Service, Inc (CWMLS) roster as a subagent of a Designated REALTOR® and gain access to CWMLS data, tools and resources, participation in CWBR’s eKEY Program, WRA Legal Hotline, access to ZipForms, Continuing Education, Dispute Resolution Services, Legislative Support, and much more.

To Become a REALTOR® you can complete the Online Realtor Membership Application. Or, you can complete the R Membership Packet and email it to cwbr@cwbr.org. Dues can be paid online by check or credit card (see Dues Schedule for amount) or mailed to CWBR 925 S Park View Circle, Mosinee WI  54455 

To Transfer a current CWBR REALTOR® from one broker to another broker please complete the Roster Change Form, Agent Data Worksheet and DSPS Roster Add Form.  Please note, we will need a Roster Change Form from the previous broker deleting the REALTOR® from their roster prior to adding the REALTOR® to the new roster. Already a Designated REALTOR® in another association located in Wisconsin or Contiguous state and you want to join CWMLS?

Please complete the Online CWMLS Only DR Application (for Designated REALTOR® ) or the Online CWMLS R Application (for REALTOR®) and email a Letter of Good Standing from your current local association to cwbr@cwbr.org. Or, complete the CWMLS Only DR or R CWMLS Only Membership Packet and email that with a Letter of Good Standing from your current primary local association to cwbr@cwbr.org.

Please note, the REALTORS® on the Designated REALTOR®’s roster must belong to the same local association as the DR. 

Designated REALTORS® and REALTORS® joining as CWMLS Only must complete the CWMLS Only DR or R CWMLS Only Membership Application and email a Letter of Good Standing from their current primary local association to cwbr@cwbr.org

Join CWBR as an Affiliate! Affiliates would be anyone else that has anything to do with the real estate industry.  Home Inspectors, Lenders, Title Companies, Heating/Air, Cleaning, Plumbing, Electricians, etc.  If it has to do with real estate, we would love to have you as an Affiliate!

Member Benefits Include: For a monthly fee, access to CWMLS data, tools and resources, and participation in CWBR’s eKEY Program.

Affiliate membership belongs to the individual listed on the application and not the firm listed. Affiliate membership is not transferable to another individual. Contact for CWBR for multiple affiliate member reduced pricing.

Agent Assistants/Office Staff

Looking to set up Agent Assistants or Office Staff with MLS credential and access?

AGENT ASSISTANTS & OFFICE STAFF: Employees that are unlicensed and only practicing in an administrative office position and are not practicing real estate sales can have access to CWMLS.  

Office Staff will have access to modify listings for the entire office.  

Agent Assistants will only have access to an agent’s profile.
