CWBR is comprised of members that keep us locally strong through participation on our Committees, Councils, Task Forces and Workgroups.

CWBR Committees, Councils, Task Forces and Workgroups:
CWBR CARES REALTOR® working in their communities to help those in need. Area groups include: Community Bootstrap Project (Marathon Co.), Uplift Portage County, Marshfield Area, Taylor County and Wisconsin Rapids Area.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE Review CWBR membership numbers on a biannual basis to understand the trends of all groups of CWBR membership
AFFILIATE WORKGROUP Work on matters of concern for Affiliate members including sponsorship, the creation of an Affiliate directory, adequate representation and membership/event participation promotion. All Affiliates are eligible to attend meetings and contribute.
BYLAWS / POLICY Review CWBR bylaws and policies and ensure that they are in compliance with state and national policy. When necessary, provide guidance at the CWBR Board of Directors and Membership meetings to ensure compliance. Executive Committee Only
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS / RPAC COMMITTEE: Educate members on the governmental process and promote REALTOR® involvement through such events as REALTOR® & Government Day. Monitor real estate legislation introduced/contemplated. Develop and implement a network of concerned REALTORS® to write letters/attend hearings to support legislation favorable to the housing industry. Promote the purposes and benefits of RPAC. Provide awareness of and encourage participation in the Direct Giver Program. Conduct an annual fund-raising drive, including area auctions, to collect RPAC dollars to be used in support of political candidates sympathetic to the REALTOR® point of view. Chair - Rita Blenker
RPAC FUNDRAISING TASK FORCE Coordination of fundraising events. Produce a program to increase RPAC contributions.
REALTOR® & GOVERNMENT DAY TASK FORCE Coordination of the event to drive members to participate in R & G Day in Madison. CWBR
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS COMMITTEE (Requires training a six-hour course once every 3-year term) Review all requests for arbitration and all cases of alleged unethical conduct to determine whether the complaint should be referred to a Hearing Panel or dismissed. Conduct Ethics and Arbitration Hearings as appointed. Render peer judgments based on the merits of all ascertainable facts. Provide an alternative method of handling REALTOR® business disputes through an informal meeting of the parties with one independent REALTOR® acting as a mediator. WRA
STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKGROUP Revise and add ideas/programs to current strategic plan. Address areas of association vision, mission, business environment, current competencies, areas of concern and future goals.
COMMUNICATION / EQUAL OPPORTUNITY / PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE: Provide local media with information that will help the public become aware of the CWBR’s activities and promote a favorable attitude toward the industry. Secure press coverage as appropriate. Plan and/or participate in local community projects that will provide REALTORS® recognition as the major players in the housing industry. Monitor local advertising practices to ensure compliance. Educate the membership on laws concerning Affirmative Marketing and Fair Housing. Receive complaints of discrimination in housing received by the Board. Develop and implement programs promoting equal housing opportunities. CWBR Cares Team
RAPID RESPONSE TEAM: Is local politics your thing? This group reviews local town meeting agendas and takes action when legislation is proposed concerning the real estate industry. Chair - Lisa Marshall
GLOBAL COUNCIL OF WISCONSIN: Do you think the global market hasn’t hit Central Wisconsin? You would be wrong! There is a large global market and the Global Council of Wisconsin is making the connections to keep global sales in the area strong.
LGBTQ+ REAL ESTATE ALLIANCE: Is dedicated to empowering the LGBTQ+ community on their path towards and enjoyment of homeownership. Along with advocating on a variety of housing issues critical to the LGBTQ+ community, we strive to improve the professional lives of our members while providing consumers with the proper resources to assist in buying, selling and enjoying their home.
CWBR WEBSITE WORKGROUP: Periodical supervision and insight to the layout of the association website
PROGRAM / EDUCATION COMMITTEE: Examine structure and coordinate the networking, educational and programming needs of CWBR Members. Plan, promote and implement programs to meet those needs.
MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE TASK FORCE (MLS): Task force to evaluate user needs and problems with MLS software. Executive Committee
CWBR OMBUDSMAN: CWBR ombudsman service is an independent and impartial resource that helps resolve complaints and disputes between agents and brokers.
